An Educationist has called on parents to enrol their children in qualitative schools where learning can be inculcated into their children and liberate them from illiteracy to being literate.
The Proprietor of Unique Basic School and College in Kaiama, Kwara State, Mr AbdulLateef Olatunji made this call during the graduation and prize-giving day of the school.
He emphasized that the school has not derailed from its mission and the limos test could be found in their outstanding performances in various competitions and examinations.
“Some of the feats include the school coming first in a competition organised by Kwara state internal revenue service, outstanding and excellent performance in 2021 WAEC and NECO examinations.”
He congratulated the graduands and urged them to do more so as to excel.
A special guest of honour and security analyst, Salihu Dantata Mahmud called on the school authority to intensify effort on securing the school premises through collaboration with the police, DSS, NSCDC and other security agencies so as to kick against any emerging threat from armed bandits and insurgents who are currently in some abandoned wildlife forests of Kainji, Kaiama, Agwara and Wawa.
He emphasised that security is every citizen’s business as enshrined in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He called for vigilance and availing of intelligence information so as to act effectively.
“The security agencies expect much from you in the area of information so as to protect you accordingly. It is the expectation of the various heads of security agencies to see that every school is protected at this time of insecurity.”
Other important dignitaries that graced the occasion include the Sarkin hausawa of Kaiama,Ciroma of Kaiama Alhaji MT Omar and others. Garba Mahmud anchored the programme which attracted audiences, families and parents of pupils.
