Dr Olalekan Fadolapo, the Registrar/ Chief Executive APCON, has observed with displeasure the insensitive and provocative Easter celebration advertisement by Sterling Bank PLC, which compared the resurrection of Christ with Agege Bread.
He disclosed this in a press release stating that APCON will take necessary actions against the bank
“The statutory panel are charged with the responsibility of ensuring that advertisement conformed with the prevailing laws of the federation, as well as ethics cord of advertising in Nigeria”.
He furthermore added that APCON will take necessary actions to ensure that the sterling bank is sanctioned for the exposure of such offensive advertisements. According to law, no religious belief or faith is ridiculed in any blasphemous advertisement exposed in any guise.
