The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has released the final list of the gubernatorial candidates and the parties to partake in the 2022 Osun poll.
The list which was released on Tuesday containing the full details of the candidates and their deputies, is said to be in compliance with the 2022 electoral act.
This was contained in a statement released by the National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voters Education, Mr. Festus Okoye.
While noting that the list is in compliance with the commission’s electoral act of 2022, he emphasised that any candidate who’s name is missing from the list should immediately notify the commission.
He added that the national chairman and Secretary of the party should notify the commission in writing not later than 90 days to the elections.
Mr. Okoye pointed out that section 32(3) of the electoral Act 2022, states that “failure to notify the commission shall not in anyway be a yardstick to invalidated the election”,
While calling on all contesting political parties to note the provision of law for adequate compliance, he noted that the final list has been published at both the state and local government commission’s office in Osun as will as the commission website and all it’s social media platforms as required by the law.
