Apprehension enveloped Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State yesterday as a bride-to-be, Farmat Paul was kidnapped some hours before her wedding.
The Nation learnt that the bride-to-be and the groom-to-be Zephaniah Kosom have sent out invitation cards for their wedding ceremony expected to take place at a church in the Ngyong community at the local government yesterday before the unfortunate incident happened.
It was gathered that the bride-to-be was abducted at the resident of her pastor where she had gone to pass the night a day to her wedding as the church tradition demanded.
The source further disclosed that those who carried out the act spoke in Fulani language through the operation which lasted for just 10 minutes, adding that the incident has been reported to the Divisional Police headquarters in the local government.
According to him, all arrangements and preparations for the wedding slated for yesterday have been put on hold while the groom-to-be has gone into isolation.
“The groom is yet to come to terms with the reality. There are different insinuations to the incident. It is a hopeless situation. The church and the family are eagerly waiting for a call from the kidnappers,” he said.
When contacted the State Police Public Relations officer Ubah Gabriel Ogiba, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) said the incident has not been reported to the State Command.
