Rising from emergency meeting in Abuja over the continuous delay by one of the anti graft agencies, the Independent corrupt related practices commission (ICPC) about fifty African base civil society groups have express displeasure and dismay over the inability of the commission to institute case against one Nelson Olegeh a staff of the securities and exchange commission , who is accused of using his two companies to defraud the government of seventy million, eight hundred thousand naira only using his two companies.
Led by the global information team, the spokesperson of the fifty groups emphasised that it portrays the Muhammadu Buhari’s government in bad light when important anti corruption cases are swept under the carpet.
“There seems to be compromise and conspiracy at the part of the icpc investigating officers who have refused to do the needful. We therefore urge the chairman of ICPC to immediately order the prosecution of the culprit”
git’s Nkechi Moses added after the deliberation. “We must make every parastatal a corrupt free one for the interest of the country and people. There is no way on daily basis corruption canbe allowed to strive in view of why the anti graft agency must do the needful by commencing the prosecution of Nelson Olegeh. The SEC must also suspend him with immediate effect.”
