The Director Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Mrs Adeseye Margaret said there has been an accident involving a Mack Tanker fully laden with 45,000 litres of Petroleum Motor Spirit, and a Tipper Truck at Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lagos, on Sunday, 12th September, 2021.
She said the tanker was reportedly hit by a run-away tipper truck, spilt its content while trying to enter an NNPC Filling Station along the axis.
The incident, which occurred at Majek Bus Stop, inward Sangotedo, Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lagos, has been cordoned off to prevent danger.
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service is mitigating the situation with the deployment of Chemical Foam Compound to neutralise petrol from causing a secondary incident.
Motorists and passers-by are hereby advised to tread with utmost caution around this corridor until the evacuation is completed.
