
The Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) has called on private and public organizations that are yet to embark on the ISO management approach to start implementing the process.
The Director-General, Standard Organisation of Nigeria, Mallam Farouk Salim stated this at the official presentation of the certificate of conformity to the National Sugar Development Council on ISO 9001: 2015 global standard in Abuja.
The Director-General of SON who was represented by Nyado Felix said the The annual surveillance process will ensure that the right standard is met.
Speaking further he noted that the certificate may be withdrawn if correct steps are not taking.
“We have bigger challenges towards the delivery of quality services. We want other people to follow this approach. We want people to follow the right step so we can make positive changes in our country”.
In the same vein, he advised all government agencies to conform with global basic requirements of ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management System standard to consumers in Nigeria.
” We are commending the National Sugar Development Council for joining the list of Government Agencies that have unreserved confidence in their quality management system, by inviting a third party to assess the quality of its business and services provided, to meet basic requirements of quality management system standard of ISO 9001:2015 “
He further charged other organisations to ensure that they meet up with global standards in their operation.
The Executive Secretary of the National Sugar Development Council, Zach Adedeji, gave assurance to the regulatory body that the council will adhere to relevant laws and guidelines.
“Quality system certification is a necessary prerequisite that will ensure quality delivery and position the council effectively. We will bring quality and innovative results to the system.Certification will enable organisations to meet up acceptable standards. It will improve the delivery of products and services. It will also place the country in positive limelight”.
